Errors
HTTP status codes returned by the transcribe endpoint.
The endpoint reports failures with HTTP status codes. Every error carries an explanation in detail.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
400 | Unreadable audio: undeclared or unsupported content type, empty part, or raw PCM without sampleRate and channels. Also when the deployment cannot be served synchronously — most often because it is provisioned for the Real-time API rather than for transcription. |
401 | Missing or invalid Authorization header. |
403 | Valid token, no access to this deployment or workflow. |
404 | Unknown deployment, version, or workflow. |
413 | audio part over the size limit. |
422 | config is not valid JSON, or a field is missing or mistyped. The body lists the offending fields. |
500 | Transcription failed. |
504 | Transcription exceeded the time limit. |
On the Real-time API, errors arrive instead as an error message on the WebSocket, after which the server closes the connection.
